<\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\u201cAs I wrote you this morning that we had heavy downpour last evening, I got very sad reports from the Village (Dzoole) about destruction of houses and property due to stormy rainfall. I went to visit the homes and found out that mostly roofs of 46 houses and property have been destroyed during the stormy rainfall. The property includes food, kitchen utensils, furniture and other household items.\u00a0Families have been displaced so much that some are temporarily staying in classrooms, some in the church and some with relatives. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sad note of all this is that the roof of the first teacher houses at Dzoole Primary School has been destroyed too. (zie foto hier naast) The two new teachers who just occupied the houses in August are now staying in the head teacher\u2019s office. The good news is that the child daycare centres, the community centre \u00a0and the under-five shelter are intact and strong. Nothing happened to them. Attached are pictures of the destroyed teacher house and pieces of iron sheets thrown away by the storm. It is just very fortunate that no one has been hurt.<\/span><\/p>\nThe other pictures are for several houses that have been affected in the village\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
Het zijn van die rampen waar men zich in Malawi niet tegen kan wapenen. Maar wel weer heel triest om te zien en te lezen. Het raakt mij ook diep. Ik ken een aantal van de getroffen families persoonlijk. Dit schreef Lemani toen ik hem erna vroeg:<\/p>\n

<\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\nTerwijl wij ons druk maken over vuurwerk, het kunnen winkelen, feestjes enz. zijn er in Malawi \u2018echte\u2019 \u00a0humanitaire problemen. Maar\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026 de mensen daar kennende zullen zij zeker proberen elkaar zo goed mogelijk te helpen.<\/p>\n
