Construction of Teacher Houses at Dzoole Primary School
The community mobilised bricks for construction of additional teacher houses at Dzoole Primary School three years ago with a hope that one day there will be a development partner who would like to support us. It was until this year that the Wilde Ganzen Foundation and Help Malawi – Nederland showed great interest in partnership with Future4All to build the house. The community is now very excited that partners from oversees have come in to support addressing the problem of shortage of teacher houses at Dzoole Primary School.
As soon as funding from Wilde Ganzen Foundation and Help Malawi-Nederland were received into Future4All account some meetings were conducted in order to re-ensure active participation and ownership of the project by community.
First of all, a meeting with community leaders (Chief and elders) and the Village Development Committee (VDC) was conducted. This was to sensitise them about the project and inform them that money has arrived to start the project. This process helps to buy in active participation and ownership of the project by the community. Community leaders were very excited about the project because they knew their bricks that were mobilised long time ago will be put to use and the school will have two additional houses.
Secondly, a meeting with skilled builders from the community was conducted. During the meeting the building plan was discussed and everyone understood it. They are ready to transfer the work from paper to the ground starting next week.
Thirdly, community leaders (Chief and elders) and the Village Development Committee (VDC) went to the school to verify land that was given to build the new house. This new building will be built right next to the other house that was built by Future4All with funding from Help Malawi-Nederland and the Soroptimisten Club.

Community members will this week start getting bricks from the kiln/woven to the site of construction so that construction should start next week.

Community is very grateful for the generosity and kindness of Wilde Ganzen and Help Malawi-Nederland and the partnership with Future4All.
